The cult of Nossa Senhora da Lapa, of Beira origin, arrived in the town around 1758, with the temple completed in 1767. The church is characterized by the uniqueness of its architectural solutions, namely the centralized plan, the placement the tower behind the chancel, and, above all, by a wide and high dome, creating an innovative and simple solution. The set, attributed to André Soares, is markedly baroque. The interior, with three characteristic elements of careful carving at the level of the altarpieces and gratings, is a typical example of Rococo style.
