Integrated in the set of megalithic monuments known as “Antas da Serra do Soajo”, a National Monument since 1910, the Mezio Megalithic Nucleus incorporates about a dozen monuments, spread over a plateau area of approximately 2 km, thus favoring visits and consequent contact with unique examples of these prehistoric funerary spaces. The area includes three monuments that have been scientifically intervened and subsequently valued. Visitors to the site have at their disposal graphic information about the intervened monuments, allowing them to understand the entire primitive architectural ensemble, as well as the areas valued under the global intervention. The megalithic nucleus of Mezio is a rare case of importance, not only for the scientific information it allowed to collect, but also for the recovery and heritage enhancement of such a remote and important chronocultural heritage.
